Health and Well-being

Health and well-being encompasses a broad spectrum of study and disciplines from basic and applied science, to social sciences, law, humanities and fine arts.

Working from multiple perspectives and disciplines, basic, social and applied scientists collaborate with community and industry partners to better understand and improve physical and mental health. A myriad of areas are explored, including disease prevention, health promotion, environmental impacts on human health, food and drug regulation, consent to treatment, measuring and modelling human behaviour, industrial organization, and human computer interaction. Health economics and geography, translating health knowledge through the arts are also examined, as are cultural—including First Nations—concepts of health and well-being.
