As the worm turns

Veterinary microbiologist Emily Jenkins found in the liver of a coyote thousands of tapeworms that could kill you or your dog -- right on campus.

Jenkins writes in The Conversation Canada that this parasite has been discovered in one third of all coyotes tested, and can make the jump to pets and humans through feces.

For the first time since 1928, human cases have now been reported - four in Alberta, over four years.
