Environmental Toxicology and Assessment

Environmental toxicology is an interdisciplinary area of research which works to better understand the roles of contaminants in the environment as well as seeking to find means of remediating their effects. Research areas include ecotoxicological and human health risks associated with resource development, the effect of drinking and wastewater on aquatic species, and better understanding of the sediments in our water systems and their potential toxicity. Examples include toxicology related to urban and industrial development and effects on the health of humans, domestic and wild animals; aquatic life and ecological systems.
