Wind Tunnel Laboratory

The Wind Tunnel Laboratory in the College of Engineering is home to a low-speed, closed-return wind tunnel used to support fundamental and applied research in fluid mechanics, aerodynamics and convective heat transfer. Several classes use the wind tunnel for short periods during the academic year. The wind tunnel was commissioned in the early 1980 and, having been updated regularly, features the latest technology, including measurement instrumentation and data acquisition software, electronic pressure and temperature transducers, thermal anemometry systems, force balance systems, a Doppler velocimetry system and a stereoscopic velocimetry system.
