Microscopy and Ultrasound Imaging (Imaging Centre)
The Imaging Centre at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine offers expertise to guide researchers in the use of transmission and scanning electron microscopy as well as confocal laser scanning and total internal reflection fluorescence microscopy. Ultrasound imaging equipment and image analysis computers fill out the suite of tools.
Dedicated technicians can discuss the capabilities of the equipment and can help with grant applications. These on-site experts help plan sampling protocols to optimize results, fix samples, and prepare samples for the microscope. They are on hand to show researchers how to use the scopes to do their own work, or can be engaged to do the work on researchers’ behalf.
